THE CENTRAL NEW JERSEY (NJ) CHAPTER OF THE LINKS, INCORPORATED, CHARTERED ON MAY 28, 1949 IS A PREMIER SERVICE ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO SUSTAINING AND ENSURING THE CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC SURVIVAL OF AFRICAN AMERICANS AND OTHER PERSONS OF AFRICAN ANCESTRY. THE ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED OVER 30,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS AND OVER 80,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS TO THE YOUTH IN OUR AREA THROUGH TARGETED PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS THE CRITICAL NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITIES. IN 2017, THE ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED A LONG-TERM INITIATIVE WITH URBAN PROMISE TRENTON, A LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AIMED AT EQUIPPING AT-RISK YOUTH WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP. IN ADDITION TO AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THESE YOUNG ADULTS TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION, THE ORGANIZATION PLANS TO OFFER A WIDE RANGE OF IMPACTFUL PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, INCLUDING WRITING SEMINARS, INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS, CAREER FAIRS, LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS, CULTURAL EXCURSIONS, ACADEMIC TUTORING, AND A HOST OF OT
