Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grant of $15,000 to a USA, Canada, or International psychologist for research projects. Eligible applicants are researchers who are affiliated with a nonprofit institution. Research projects may address scientific, scholarly, applied research, and educational activities to support the investigation of how personality, culture, and environment influence work behavior, and mental and physical health.

Preference will be given to graduate students and early career psychologists (ten years or less postdoctoral), and pilot projects that, if successful, would be strong candidates for support from major federal and foundation funding agencies, and "demonstration projects" that promise to generalize broadly to similar settings in other geographical areas and/or to other settings.

Most APF programs allow for a wide range of direct costs.  Examples include (but are not limited to): participant payments, supplies, technology expenses (software, hardware, imaging, etc.), travel to conduct research, travel to disseminate findings, stipend/salary support, course buy out and supplemental training.

The APF tries to announce grant recipients approximately two to three months after a grant deadline, though the exact time may take shorter or longer depending on the number of applications received.

For grants and scholarships that are $10,000 or more, APF will disburse the funds to the grantee’s institution. APF does not allow institutional indirect costs or overhead costs. Funded researchers may use grant monies for direct administrative costs of their proposed project.
